5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 16)
3. Interesting Twist On Tag-Team Title Match Hype
In similar fashion to the actual Money In The Bank collision itself, the Fatal-4-Way clash for the WWE Tag-Team Titles is coming at the right time. Having various combinations square off is obvious booking, but it would become tired if repeated over and over again. Therefore, the decision to hold a 4-Way on SmackDown was shrewd.
Luke Gallows, Big Cass, Kofi Kingston and Aiden English would be involved here, and it was the latter pairing who provided the finish. Kingston eventually pinned English after hitting Trouble In Paradise, but the overhanging feeling to take from this one was that things would be even more chaotic by adding another quartet into the mix.
That's exactly what's going to happen at Money In The Bank, once again making the pay-per-view match look superior to anything fans can see on free television. Often, the lack of genuine quality contrast between pay-per-view and TV bouts is something WWE are criticised for, but not so here. This hyped the WWE Tag Title match perfectly.
