5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 23)

1. Sami Zayn Hangs With Seth Rollins

Come crunch time, Sami Zayn was permitted to look competitive against Seth Rollins. He still lost in the end, but at least he was given a lot by the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This was a match that hasn't been constantly aired on television, so it's worthwhile checking out.

Even if Zayn doesn't manage to break into the main event mix during his WWE tenure, he may find a niche by occupying that slot just below the headliners. There's no shame in that, because not everybody is going to be handed the keys to the main event kingdom, regardless of talent. If fans are given more matches like this, there should be no complaints.

There are high hopes that Zayn will once again face Kevin Owens at Battleground, maybe even in a stipulation match. WWE must be careful they don't tack too many stipulation bouts onto the show, because it undermines Extreme Rules, but this feud may merit it.
