Those working with ring with AJ Styles can be guaranteed that they will be handed some sweet offensive stretches bell-to-bell. Styles isn't a selfish talent, and his main strength lies in making a big comeback to pop the fans, bust out his main moves and then pick up the win. Heath Slater was the perfect kind of foe for that kind of match. It would have been nice to see Chris Jericho poking his nose in, but that may have felt all too familiar. If Y2J had cost Styles the bout, it wouldn't have really added anything. Jericho could have sat in on commentary, but this was a decent encounter for what it was. Best of all, Slater was handed the opportunity to dominate some short sections and look like AJ's equal. The Social Outcasts coming out on the losing end doesn't actually hurt them at all, they have their role on television and that's fine. Still, it was nice to see Heath get some of his stuff in and build up some heat on AJ. This was a perfectly acceptable TV match. The right man won, and the loser was allowed to shine before inevitably succumbing to the good guy. What other 'ups' and 'downs' did you take from this week's WWE SmackDown?
