5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Nov 26)

2. Zeb Colter's Promo Was Too Predictable

There are a lot of comments on social media at the moment regarding the onscreen relationship between Alberto Del Rio and Zeb Colter. A lot of fans are of the impression that the pairing isn't working, and is a poor use of Del Rio following his return at Hell In A Cell. A feud against Jack Swagger doesn't seem to be inspiring people to think differently. One main issue with the Colter and Del Rio association is that they seem to say and do the same things every single time they are on television. Surely, it'd be far more interesting to hear Colter talk about why he has distanced himself from Swagger, whom he previously managed? Instead, he waffles on about the same old borderline-racist nonsense, and it's terribly dull. On Smackdown, that trend continued. Fans visibly tune out when Colter and Del Rio talk about 'Mex-America'. During the rambling diatribe, people could be seen texting on their phones, or talking to one another. That's not a good sign, because a talent like Alberto Del Rio should be someone fans look forward to seeing. In one respect, Jack Swagger isn't the real problem, the characterisation of Colter and Del Rio is.
