Upon winning the 'King Of The Ring' in late-April, Wade Barrett was turned into the stereotypical royal character that regularly fails to connect with the audience. Generally speaking, if you're not Jerry 'The King' Lawler, people don't really care when wrestlers start wearing robes and crowns. The 'King' gimmick did nothing for Barrett, and actually pushed him further to the back of the queue with creative. It seems like the promotion's big idea for the man now is to team him with Sheamus. The big Irishman is currently 'Mr. Money In The Bank', but there's a lot of time left to decide exactly when he'll cash in on that prize. Therefore, there's no reason why he and Barrett can't form a unit on WWE television and gun for the WWE Tag-Team Titles. After The Dudley Boyz inevitably capture the belts, they will need a new team to go up against. Barrett and Sheamus could be ideal candidates. Both men are of similar size, and they're solid workers inside the ring. Could this be the start of a new faction? If Sheamus and Barrett add someone like Paige to their ranks, it could be something special.
