5 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (July 29)

1. The Vaudevillains Shine

Enzo and Cass may not be battling for the Tag Team Titles at TakeOver Brooklyn after all. It appears that honour may be going to The Vaudevillains. Last night the progenitors of manliness and chivalry came up short in their attempt at the Championships, thanks entirely to interference from Alexa Bliss, Blake & Murphy's charismatic manager. The challengers put on a great showing, English and Gotch separately wowing the crowd with their eccentric yet endearing persona-driven offence. After the match, in another display of excellent character work from the two men, despite Bliss costing them the match, they still opened the ropes for her in an act of unerring chivalry, much to the delight of the crowd. The fact they were slapped for their efforts prompted another big pop, and it appears that The Vaudevillains are not done with the Champions and their ringside she-devil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY0X4-slCMs The Vaudevillains may be, in their heart, a comedy act, but their commitment to their gimmick and their innovative physicality have found them a solid support base in NXT. If last night was any indication, we may have exceedingly manly tag team champions before too long.
