The besieged lackey standing up to his/her boss is such a great wrestling trope when done right. Virgil blasting the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase is still the gold standard, but there are plenty of such instances throughout the years.

Monday night, WWE teased another one, with the Miztourage standing up to the Miz as he badmouthed Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, slapping Dallas and even calling himself a better Intercontinental Champion than Axel’s father Mr. Perfect.

But just as it appeared that the Miztourage and Seth Rollins and Finn Balor were about to gang up on the Miz Bo and Axel jumped Miz’s WrestleMania opponents, beating them down in a perfect little game of misdirection. Sure, the Club saved the day and evened the odds, but the entire display was well-executed.

Plus, it showed that fans are just itching to cheer for Dallas and Axel for at least one night when they finally stand up to the Miz.
