5 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Dec 7)
3. Competitive Match Is A Plus, Despite Drooling Commentary Booth. New Challengers Arrive (Just Not You...)
It was something of a mixed bag when dissecting Toxic Attraction's evening last night. But the positives just about outweighed the negatives. Just.
On the plus side, NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne put in another decent shift in a match against make-shift unit Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz - though the pair admittedly pushed the champs a little too close to the limit for a team that seem anything but close to title contendership. But this all important W was quickly forgotten about as Mandy Rose seized hold of the mic and proceeded to lay down the gauntlet to whoever felt like testing themselves against the group.
Hilariously, Cora Jade wanted to do just that, only for the NXT Women's Champion to confess that she wasn't worthy of a shot... literal seconds after namedropping her as a future contender. Logic; you've got to love it.
Raquel Gonzalez was soon on hand to chase off the trio as a WarGames wounded Jade smiled on - feeling every bit as feeble as Rose had suggested. And all signs now seem to point to Big Mami Cool getting her long-awaited rematch, despite Jade getting the WarGames win for her team and beating Rose a few weeks ago. Though her apparent storyline injury likely has her shelved for the next few weeks, at least.
A forced team war has undoubtedly taken the steam out of both women's divisions. So, the sooner NXT get their sh*t together and build up some bona fide challengers outside of the dominant, but surely still Dakota Kai-linked, Gonzalez the better. This Toxic Attraction experiment likely depends on it.
