5 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 6)
3. Prolonging Just To Prolong
Few things are worse than when WWE decides to prolong a feud that already has been decisively decided (see Roman Reigns/Brock Lesnar after WrestleMania 34).
In this case, the Authors of Pain handily defeated Titus Worldwide twice (three times if you count Main Event) in a two-week span in dominant fashion. But rather than just move on to another tag team, the Authors continued their battle with Titus O’Neil’s crew. Last week, Akam lost to Apollo Crews, and Monday, Rezar defeated Titus in singles action.
Yes, it’s the dreaded 50/50 of tag team wrestlers fighting in singles bouts. So now, we must have the tag team match to conclusively determine which team is better, right?
Wrong. We’ve already seen Titus Worldwide squashed twice on Raw last month. This isn’t some evenly matched feud, it’s WWE trying to prolong things because they’ve either got a dearth of tag teams (true) or nothing better planned for AOP (also true).
Trash.
