5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2020

4. Our Kingdom For An Authority Figure

Never thought these words would be written: We could really use an authority figure in WWE right now.

Without someone onscreen booking matches and maintaining a semblance of order, we had MVP crowning himself the new United States Champion via forfeit and strapping a new title that he had made himself around his waist. We also had Bayley ripping the shirt off a downed referee and counting a pinfall after knocking Sasha Banks’ opponent Asuka out, declaring Banks the new Raw Women’s Champion.

A GM would have been running out of the back to declare that finish null-and-void and demand the match be restarted with a new ref. But instead, the segment ended with Banks and Bayley leaving with all the gold, and we were left to wonder what the hell just happened.

Sure, the writers believe this means fans will have to tune in to Raw Monday night to find out what happens, but if you paid for this PPV, you’re probably throwing popcorn at the TV.
