5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Fastlane 2018

5. Commissioner Hothead

If it looked like this was leading somewhere big, then maybe this would be an “up.”

But we’ve already seen Kevin Owens versus Shane McMahon, so the SmackDown commissioner’s interference in the six-pack challenge for the WWE Championship was just downright silly. Shane clearly has an ongoing feud with KO and Sami Zayn, but for McMahon to pull the referee and then Zayn out to break up pinfall attempts was just crazy.

Is this leading to another KO/Shane match? A tag match with Shane picking a partner? The match everyone wants to see is Daniel Bryan coming back, but we’re not getting that. So that leaves us in this weird limbo land.

As with some of these “downs,” we will have to temper it with what comes next, but knowing what’s happened to this point, there isn’t a lot to breed confidence.
