5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw 3:16 Day

3. A Bland Contract Signing

Even before WWE essentially became a spectator-less program, the Undertaker/AJ Styles feud just wasn’t cutting it.

So Monday’s contract signing had an uphill battle before it even began. Taker eschewing his usual full entrance and attire was a nice touch as he flipped over the table and paced the ring, but then we got AJ backstage basically repeating his promo from last week, name-dropping UT’s wife and calling him by his given name. Neither of those things worked last week, so they still weren’t hitting Monday.

And then we got the brainless lackey bit, with the “Best Tag Team in the World” delivering the contract to Taker to sign, only for him to disappear and reappear behind them and pummel them into mush. Because of course we needed that.

Sorry to anyone who is really looking forward to this match, but it just doesn’t feel like this is going to be memorable for any of the right reasons.
