Why yes, Apollo Crews is considered an important acquisition for Raw according to the announcers, why did you ask?

After only three televised matches in the past five months – all short losses to Sheamus – Crews came over to the red brand as an expiring draft pick Monday night to face Aleister Black. While the outcome was never really in doubt, we got much more than we bargained for.

Crews hung with Black in a lengthy bout that started with a lot of grappling for control before things started to pick up, with Apollo getting in a fair amount of offense, including a toss powerbomb, standing Shooting Star Press, and superplex. Black injured Crews with a kneebar and kept coming back to the injured limb, but Apollo hung in there with him for a good while.

In the end, it was a Black Mass that put out Crews’ lights, but you’ve got to agree with Byron Saxton: We want to see more of this Apollo Crews.
