5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 8)

1. Chemistry In Spades

Charlotte Flair Asuka

As much as this writer might be tired of Charlotte Flair being all-present, a feud against Asuka is still good for the wrestling soul.

Flair and Asuka have mad chemistry together, and their one-on-one match Monday night proved it. They had a solid non-title match to close out Raw, trading bombs during a lengthy main event. Seriously, when was the last time a women’s one-on-one match ended Raw and lasted 25+ minutes, and was entertaining throughout?

As much as Charlotte winning again is eyeroll-inducing, it goes to the theme that Asuka has never managed to beat her. That just (hopefully) sets up a title feud between them for later this summer, where the Empress could finally slay her toughest opponent. (Sounds eerily similar to Becky Lynch with Asuka at Royal Rumble, doesn’t it?)

So while we had way too much Flair Monday night, we at least ended with a pretty good match that reminds fans why Charlotte deserves a prominent spot on TV.
