4. Was NXT UK Invited?

This might seem odd, but does anyone know if NXT UK was invited to be part of Raw?

Up to this point, all the NXT appearances on Raw and SmackDown have been that of an invading army. The wrestlers have come out of the crowd to hit the ring, or they’ve been backstage and confronted their way into a match where they came down the ramp.

Monday, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler came out of the crowd during the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match. But later on, Imperium came out from the main entrance. However, they were answering an open challenge, so that was still a little different.

But later on, the Viking Raiders wrestled former NXT UK Tag Team Champions Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews in what amounted to little more than a squash. Was this part of the NXT invasion? Or were they there by invitation because Raw was in the UK this week?

Because if it was an invasion, it sure as hell didn’t pass the smell test. Send two scrawny dudes out to get mauled by the Viking Raiders. Yeah, that’s a great move. In the end, it’s consistency we’re talking about here. NXT has been invading the main shows, but this just felt like a special attraction match, though the announcers called it part of the NXT takeover.
