5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 16th)

5. Sting Hits The Gym

When Sting made his WWE debut at Survivor Series, fans noted that the WCW Icon looked noticeably slower and heavier than he had in recent years. With Triple H still in peak physical shape, it was really noticeable and just made Sting look like an over-the-hill guy in a trenchcoat, not a legendary performer who could take on one of WWE€™s top stars. Monday night, Sting came to Randy Orton€™s defense in beating back the Authority. During the melee, Sting shed his jacket and hit his signature Stinger Splash on J&J Security. It was the most athletic move we€™ve seen from him since his WWE debut, and the first time he€™s removed his coat. Thankfully, it looks like Sting has been training had to be in solid physical shape for his WrestleMania debut. This might not feel like a big deal, but if a slow, bloated Sting shows up to WrestleMania, all it will do is tarnish his reputation (to the 90% of wrestling fans who never watched TNA).

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
