Was anyone else shocked and surprised that Sami Zayn’s obstacle course wasn’t on the up-and-up?

Zayn challenged Bobby Lashley to a military-style obstacle course around the ring Monday night, but it didn’t exactly go as planned. Lashley breezed through the course in half the time it took Zayn to do it, but Sami was waiting to attack Bobby before he hit the ground from the rope climb. He then hit a Helluva Kick to knock Lashley out.

Why is Lashley falling for stuff like this? It’s beyond obvious that Sami was going to rig the course or at least plot to knock his opponent down a peg. It might have built sympathy for Lashley with some great athleticism, but it also showed that the Dominator is susceptible to basic trickery.
