5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 27)
3. Brock, Goldberg Keep It Simple
No one is expecting a four-star classic match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg at WrestleMania. Let’s just level and call it like that.
But Brock and advocate Paul Heyman did a nice job Monday night selling the match for the WWE Universal Championship, with Heyman giving Goldberg credit as “Da Man,” but wryly noted that Lesnar is “Da Beast” and would chew up and spit out the champ. And then, Goldberg came out and declared that he wasn’t waiting for WrestleMania and would bring the Showcase of the Immortals to Philly.
Goldberg then promptly speared Lesnar and left him lying on the arena floor, continuing the theme that he has Brock’s number. The match at Mania might be – as Jim Ross would call it – bowling-shoe ugly, but it seems like WWE is aware that this won’t be a technical masterpiece and is focusing on the spectacle of it.
