5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 13)

5. Ummm… Where’s the Extreme?

The Horror Show at Extreme Rules

This is going to sound hypocritical, but where are all the “extreme” stipulations Sunday’s PPV?

Normally, this writer would be decrying the artificial adding of stips to matches simply because there’s a PPV on the calendar called Extreme Rules, but if you’re going to have a PPV by that name, it feels ridiculous to have a (as of Monday night) six-match card with only three carrying any kind of “extreme” stipulation.

Aside from the swamp match between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt, and the Eye for an Eye match, Dolph Ziggler is supposed to pick a stip for his WWE Championship match against Drew McIntyre. But both women’s title matches and the United States Championship match are all currently just straight wrestling matches.

And look, normally that’s more than fine. But you have a PPV specifically billed as “The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.” Unless WWE is counting the fact that the “audience” is all wearing masks, then this is some weak sauce.
