5. Feud Fueled By Marky Mark

We now live in a world where a feud between AJ Styles and the Undertaker is being bolstered by a video clip of Mark Wahlberg. No, seriously.

Styles lost an abysmal gauntlet match at Super Showdown for a giant Lucite trophy when Taker interjected himself and took Rey Mysterio’s place, then laid out AJ with a single chokeslam and pinned him, apparently winning the gauntlet match.

Monday, AJ referenced the trophy and how UT deprived him of it. He then turned his attention to an “interview” Wahlberg gave on camera, telling Styles to walk away from this potential feud with Undertaker. That set AJ off, as he lamented that he was now getting wrestling advice from Marky Mark.

Because that’s wrestling in 2020: An actor cuts a fake interview that allegedly has “gone viral” in support of a wrestling angle centered on a crappy tournament for a crappy trophy. That’s how we sell AJ Styles versus Undertaker in their first (well, technically second) match against each other.
