Few things will take you out of the suspension of disbelief faster than a total lack of enthusiasm from wrestlers. Imagine if Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan dogged it and you couldn’t tell they were bitter enemies.

That certainly was not the case Monday night between Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins, who had enough enmity to spare twice over. Their backstage brawl was brief but intense, and their match featured plenty of anger from both men. Joe insisted that he would determine when they’ve had enough of each other, while Rollins brought the fight right to the Samoan Submission Machine. Joe using the exposed turnbuckle deliberately and drawing a DQ also made sense since he was simply trying to hurt Rollins.

Joe and Rollins appear on-course for another conflict at Extreme Rules, but at least there’s enough emotion behind it to power this feud.
