3. Cesaro & Sheamus Run The Table

It’s rare that you see a person or team in a turmoil/gauntlet style match run the table. But when it happens, it’s usually a sign of sorts.

That’s what we got Monday night, with Cesaro & Sheamus toppling four other teams en route to earning a #1 contender’s spot and a tag title match against the Hardy Boyz. True, we just saw that match at Payback, but after that bout, the former tag champs turned heel, giving the duo a new edge that has rejuvenated them somewhat. Having them plow through the entire Raw tag division only helped solidify that.

Sure, you could make the argument that having Cesaro & Sheamus defeat every active team in the division and get another title shot is poor booking, but really, no one else is in a position to step up right this second, and they’re as good as anyone else you could put up.
