5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 16)
6. The Temper-Tantrums Are Back
Three years ago, WWE seemingly hit upon gold – as in, the writers and/or some higher-ups thought something was hilarious, so we got to see it week after week, even if it was the stupidest thing we’d seen in months.
That “gold” was Alicia Fox throwing lengthy temper-tantrums after her matches. Fox would taunt ring announcers, throw soda and popcorn, and scream obnoxiously. It was all very pointless, and it painted Alicia as unhinged, a character trait she has mostly maintained since then.
Monday, Fox lost to Sasha Banks, tapping out to the Banks Statement. Afterward, she started throwing another temper-tantrum in the ring, screaming and kicking the ropes. Later, she jumped Banks backstage and shoved a referee, continuing the “crazy lady” gimmick.
The childish temper-tantrums didn’t work before – although they can work if used correctly. The problem is that the higher-ups seemed to just like her having a snit for the sake of doing it, not to get her over or build to something. And that’s reason to be wary – especially if we see Foxy reach for the popcorn again.
