5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 16)
5. You Sure This Is TLC?
Just in case you were confused, Sunday’s PPV is called TLC, which is short for tables, ladders and chairs.
WWE seems to have forgotten this fact, as the specialty PPV features only one billed match using the namesake weapons: a TLC match involving the reunited Shield against Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman and Kane.
For better or worse, WWE has had a habit of using the TLC PPV title as an excuse to have several special stipulation matches beyond the TLC contest, including a ladder match, a tables match and a chairs match. (The less said about the stairs match, the better.) Sure, the route to arrive at those matches is often flimsy at best, but still, why have a specialty PPV and then not use the special stips?
However, Raw ended with no tables match, no ladder match and no chairs match, leaving us with a TLC match, three women’s matches, two cruiserweight matches and a Halloween-themed bout.
Yup.
