5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Battleground 2017

3. A Legit Shock Hopefully Ends Feud

Jinder Mahal The Great Khali

In an effort to look for the silver lining, we offer up this pro from the WWE Championship match:

WWE did deliver a legit surprise at the end of Battleground, with the Great Khali returning to the company for the first time in nearly three years and helping Jinder Mahal retain his title. Khali looked somewhat mobile (for him) and managed to be the difference-maker, choking out Randy Orton while Jinder escaped the Punjabi Prison for the win.

In addition, this win hopefully will mean the end of the feud with Randy Orton, though you get the feeling we’re due for yet another PPV bout at SummerSlam. Still, if this is the end of this feud, then so be it.

But still, kudos for a relevant surprise run-in. At least we can agree on that.
