Just looking at the list of competitors in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, you would have expected that they would deliver a bout full of highlight reel-worthy moments. And you would be right.

The wrestlers battered each other with moves we haven’t seen before in a MITB bout (something you can’t say too often after 19 such matches), including a Death Valley Driver through a ladder bridge (AJ Styles to Kevin Owens). Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn all got chances to shine, as did Baron Corbin, Owens and Dolph Ziggler. Fans rallied behind this match, and they weren’t disappointed by the action in and around the ring.

Was it enough to save a lackluster Money in the Bank PPV? No, but give the wrestlers credit for firing on all cylinders. It definitely provided more of an upward trend to close out the PPV than it was headed.
