2. Women Acquit Themselves Well

Putting aside the horrific ending, the women pulled off a very nice Money in the Bank ladder match.

One concern some might have had about the match was whether the women could make the normally brutal MITB contest look “realistic” enough without seriously injuring themselves in the process. The wrestlers pulled this off pretty well by sticking to a lot of tried-and-true tactics and spots. While fans might have seen these spots in many of the previous 17 MITB matches, they were all new when being performed by the women. And it worked.

Of course, the match just seemed to be ramping up – Charlotte hit a twisting dive onto Natalya and Tamina, while Becky Lynch had powerbombed Carmella – when the bout abruptly took a dark turn and ended. If the match had been allowed to continue for another 5 minutes or so, it could have been pretty well-regarded.

But at least we saw that they were capable of pulling it off.
