WWE is barreling toward its second empty arena PPV on Sunday, and it doesn’t really feel like we’re heading into anything special, regardless of how many times, the company reminds us that six men and six women will “climb the corporate ladder” in the most unique Money in the Bank ladder match ever.

Consider that only six matches have been announced, with the two ladder matches taking place at the same time, so it’s really only five unique matches. Even though the matches themselves might be fine, things just feel like they’re steaming along at a slow and steady pace, rather than ramping up to a fever pitch – with one exception being the WWE Championship match.

Raw on Monday delivered a nice continuation of the Seth Rollins/Drew McIntyre feud, and it set things up nicely for a Raw tag title match if WWE will pull the trigger there, which would fill out the card decently. Raw also saw the return of one of its biggest superstars Monday night, and not a moment too soon.

But Raw was more frustrating Monday night than it had been in some time. Wrestlers who seemed positioned to take steps forward lost. Others who needed to get untracked remained sidelined. We also saw WWE rewrite its own history.

And perhaps worst of all, we saw a major match announced for next week in a commercial rather than being built up as an angle.

With that said, let’s dive into this subpar episode. Let’s get to it…

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
