If you want proof that all is not lost in WWE, look no further than the TLC match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens.

This match was set up nicely, with KO refusing to stay down, a theme from SmackDown that carried over into the PPV contest. Owens jumped Reigns during introductions and really laid into him, assaulting Roman with cannonballs, stairs and a frogsplash to the floor. When Jey Uso intervened, KO demolished him and Pillmanized his ankle.

Reigns was brutal in this match, just laying in chairshots and a lot of badmouth. Owens fought back valiantly, but Roman kept putting him down (with help from Uso), including a great sequence where he powerbombed KO on a ladder, slammed him through one table, hit a Samoan drop through a second table, and then speared him through a third.

Still, Owens kept coming, and even managed to put Roman through a table via Pop-Up Powerbomb. Nonetheless, Reigns was not to be denied, and he retained the title, but this match was a brutal war in which both men looked great and Roman’s standing as top dog was strengthened.

Outstanding match that made the PPV worth it.
