5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE TLC 2020

Downs...

7. Remember The IIconics?

The IIconics
WWE

Readers of this column know this writer was never a fan of the IIconics – their shrill screeching and subpar wrestling (at least from one of the pair) made for a less-than-entertaining duo.

However, they were a long-established team that could have carried on as a duo or with one wrestling singles and the other serving as manager. Instead, they inexplicably lost a match that forced them to break up, and then drafted them to different shows.

And what has happened since? Peyton Royce (the more talented wrestler of the two) has been largely off TV but is now in another tag team with Lacey Evans (rather than embarking on a singles career). And Billie Kay was seen at TLC once again shopping her resume, this time to Asuka as a potential tag partner. (Spoiler: Her “interview” didn’t go well and she didn’t get the spot.)

Since being drafted to SmackDown, Kay has had three matches… two of which were tag team bouts, and all were losses. Why were the IIconics split up if this is the kind of thing Royce and Kay are doing three months later?
