The moment it was announced that we were having a makeshift 16-man elimination tag match based on nationalities, you just had to know we were in store for a goofy main event.

It’s the kind of match that does next to no one any favors as wrestlers get pinned rapid-fire after just one move, and competitors look like goofs and geeks more often than not. And that’s exactly what we got, with a series of strange eliminations that will likely be ignored tomorrow. Aside from Zack Ryder, who came out of that match looking good?

These types of matches might work on house shows or one-offs like Tribute to the Troops, but just because Raw falls on a holiday doesn’t mean it’s a great idea.
