Seth Rollins has been floundering ever since Hell in a Cell, and he was at risk of sinking fast after losing his Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. Hell, him going on sabbatical for a couple months might have been a viable option.

And indeed, Rollins came out Monday night looking dejected and saying he didn’t know if he didn’t have the energy to keep fighting.

Cue Triple H and his merry band of NXT invaders, this time in the form of the Undisputed Era. Hunter gave Rollins a “pep talk” of sorts, firing him up and then threatening him to join NXT… or fight against them.

The segment worked at quickly turning a corner away from the debacle that has been Rollins’ feud with The Fiend and refocused him on something else. Seth couldn’t continue to lament his loss and tread water, so putting him in that situation with Triple H and NXT was a very smart move.
