5 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (September 10)

1. Bow Down To No Woman

“The Riott Squad should bow down and thank the Bella Twins.”

And just like that, Renee Young has been fed her first line of pure BS from backstage to regurgitate into a mic. Listening to Renee gush about how amazing the Bellas are – Did you know they’re entrepreneurs and trailblazers for women in WWE? – is enough to make you gag.

It’s funny how WWE treats its “legends” in such disparate ways. The Bellas are to be treated with reverence (Corey Graves actually used that word at one point Monday night), while someone like Mickie James, who actually charted a pretty big path in the ring and developed a second career as a musician, is an afterthought on the roster.

But Mickie created her career elsewhere, while the Bellas’ empire is a WWE subsidiary, so they’re the geniuses who other full-time wrestlers should bow down and thank – the irony here being that the Bellas did more during the Total Divas era to set women’s wrestling back than almost anyone else.

No thanks.
