5 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 26)

3. Heel Beatdown #2

Even though you could see it coming a mile away, the beating the Finn Balor took to close out Raw tied things together nicely.

Balor seemed resigned to his fate in a backstage promo, noting that he couldn’t live with himself if he didn’t stand up for what he felt was right. He faced acting GM Baron Corbin after Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley beat down Elias. And just when it looked like Finn might topple Baron, the GM grabbed a mic and made it a handicap match, bringing out McIntyre for the quick win.

Then Lashley came out and the 3-on-1 beating was on. All of this should be setting up Elias and Balor joining forces and enlisting some help, or toughing it out until Braun Strowman returns. It’s a perfectly acceptable and smart way to lay things out. Predictable isn’t always bad, and this was a perfect example of that.
