5 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 26)
6. No Sympathy For Luchas
All the credit in the world to the Lucha House Party for hitting their high-flying offense rapid-fire, trying to get their act over (though ditching the named pinata gimmick would help).
But this “Lucha House Rules” for tag matches where the faces get a 3-on-2 advantage and apparently don’t need to tag in and out?
Yeah, no.
The Revival has this writer head-nodding the whole time as they railed against the luchadores for not respecting traditional tag team wrestling, and how they were essentially cheating by making all three members legal against two opponents. So of course we got the same result as last week: a fast-paced match with Kalisto, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik running circles around Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, making them look like fools.
But what’s the point? Is Lucha House Party suddenly going to compete with AOP for the tag titles? There are better ways to get the concept over than having them win handicap matches like this.
