7. Cruiserweights Don’t Click

After playing up the fact that Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins have a friendship going back many years, you would have thought that they would have had a lot more chemistry in the ring, but they just didn’t click.

You would expect a Cruiserweight Championship match on PPV to involve both men pulling out all the stops and hitting some high-impact, dazzling moves to help put the division over. Instead, the early part of the match focused on Kendrick wondering why TJP wouldn’t lay down for him. But even once they moved past that, you could tell (and the crowd did as well) that they weren’t on the same page.

You have to hope that there are better matches on the horizon for the fledgling division. We’ve seen great cruiserweight matches this summer in the Cruiserweight Classic, and hopefully we’ll see some in WWE.
