Remember when Asuka was the most feared woman on the entire WWE/NXT roster? And Kairi Sane won the first Mae Young Classic? When they were paired up several months ago, you couldn’t help but think there was a chance they could rekindle that glory.

But lately they’ve been fit for a milk carton, having had only one televised match in the past eight weeks. Sunday, however, the Kabuki Warriors got a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match and defeated Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross to win the titles.

Better than that, they won with Asuka busting out the green mist(!) to blind Cross and hit a head kick for the pin. The match itself wasn’t all that great, but the Japanese superstars are perfectly capable, so if WWE would like to actually, you know, use their wrestlers, they could do worse than have the Warriors in the champs role.
