5 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Hell In A Cell 2019
4. Gable Gets A Win… Then Gets Punked
So we’re going to do a double-dose of downs for one match here.
Chad Gable deserves better than trading wins with perpetual water-treader King Corbin. But that’s where we are.
Gable rode a series of upset wins to the King of the Ring finals, where he lost to Corbin. Disappointing yes, but fine, have him move on to something else. Instead, he continued to tangle with Corbin, winning a match on Raw a couple weeks ago by DQ. Then Sunday, he defeated Corbin via rollup in a long, plodding match.
But it wasn’t over yet. Backstage, Gable gave a brief interview and was promptly jumped by Corbin and laid out. So even if you were going to argue that Gable got a rub by defeating Corbin, he won with a fluky rollup and then got punked.
So yeah, can we please separate these two, for Gable’s sake? He’s a ridiculously talented former Olympian, and he’s embroiled in a feud with heat vacuum King Corbin.
