1. Overshadowed: Sable With Marc Mero

When Marc Mero left WCW and signed with WWE back in 1996, the company also decided to bring in his real-life wife Sable along, to accompany him to the ring.

Mero would first adopt a 'wildman' babyface persona, before ultimately turning heel and mistreating Sable, who had already become a bigger star than her husband by that time.

To be fair, Sable didn't blatantly try and steal the spotlight. She certainly wasn't wowing the audience with her amazing mic work or acting. However, she was a very beautiful woman in WWE at a time when there weren't many in professional wrestling. The audience was captivated by Sable's movie-star good looks, which ultimately helped her become one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era.

During their run with the company, it became so obvious that Sable was overshadowing Marc Mero that WWE even made it into a storyline.

In truth, unlike many of the other wrestlers on our list who were overshadowed, Mero was a solid in-ring performer at the time and had plenty of charisma in his own right. It would have been interesting to see how his career would have gone in WWE without getting bogged down in Sable-centric storylines.
