5 Ways WWE Can Improve NXT

2. Bring Back Failed Projects

Back when NXT was in its infancy, I was a big Aiden English fan. His opera gimmick was super over with the crowd, and he made for an engaging bad guy who had a fantastic gimmick. Then Simon Gotch became his tag partner, and together they became the Vaudevillains. Their old school aesthetic and teamwork made them a favorite tag team - regardless that their finishing move wasn't great.

Seriously, the Whirling Dervish isn't good. At all.

But what is he now? Still with Gotch, they are a joke in the SmackDown Live tag team division. Their "bygone era" gimmick hasn't gotten off the ground, and they are sitting in jobber territory right now. The only thing that can bring them back to the top of the division is to send them back down to NXT and reshape themselves.

English and Gotch aren't the only ones who need to take a step down - other talents like Bo Dallas, Fandango, Titus O'Neil, Summer Rae, and The Ascension could all use this time to head down to Full Sail and figure out what is next for them instead of randomly changing out of nowhere.

Sometimes, going backwards is going forward. Tyson Kidd proved this right a couple of years ago. It might be time for others to follow suit.
