5 Ways WWE Can Improve The Cruiserweight Division
1. Bring More Titles Into The Picture
This final argument is a logical extension of the previous point. It doesn't necessarily mean introducing a new title such as a tag team championship for the Cruiserweights. Most people would agree that the WWE already has more than enough title belts right now and doesn't need any more.
But, if done sparingly, sending a couple of Cruiserweights after the tag team titles, for example, could boost their presence on the roster and give those Cruiserweights who aren't in the division's title picture something to do. They don't have to win them, but at least it will give them more meaningful TV time that they can use to show of their abilities, develop their characters and improve their skills on the microphone.
It could even be presented as a mini-invasion angle, with the Cruiserweights looking to gain respect from the established roster, targeting the gold to do so. This particular idea would need to be implemented carefully though. The Cruiserweight Championship needs to maintain a level of prestige and not just get lost on the roster like its predecessor did. This will undoubtedly become more difficult to do if half the division are more interested in pursuing other title belts.
But, taking the tag team title example again, if a couple of high-fliers went after it, they could be doing it with the aim of bringing it to the Cruiserweight division and with the full support of the Cruiserweight Champion. It could even be done under the leadership of the Cruiserweight Champion as part of their master plan to dominate whichever brand they are on.
