5 Ways WWE Can Improve The Cruiserweight Division
2. Let Them Interact With The Rest Of The Roster
Sin Cara recently signed with the Cruiserweight division and many have argued for wrestlers such as Neville to move over to the group as well. But this misses the point. One of the problems the division faces, as already argued, is that the divide between the Cruiserweights and the rest of Raw is too rigid. Once you join the purple division, it seems there's no going back. You're stuck there and have to hope you get thrown into the title picture before management forget why they hired you and terminate your contract.
Of course, maintaining some kind of distinctness is necessary if the Cruiserweights don't want to get lost in the mid or lower cards. But the metaphorical purple wall between the Cruiserweights and rest of Raw needs to be broken down, or at least have a door installed. Let the Cruiserweights mix it up with the rest of the main roster once in a while and vice-versa.
Moreover, there are plenty of established wrestlers in WWE who meet the Cruiserweight criteria. Take Enzo Amore for example, he has been pretty popular as of late and could add some much needed energy to the division. But people like him don't mix with the Cruiserweights; it isn't worth their time, as WWE have far bigger plans for them.
Obviously, you don't want someone like Amore strutting in and taking over the division, but it wouldn't hurt if, for a few weeks, he pursued the Cruiserweight Championship. He doesn't have to win it, but the fact that an established wrestler from the 'old' roster sees the Cruiserweight Title as something worth chasing could give both the group and the title a real boost.
