5 Wrestlers Who Could Be The Joker In AEW's Casino Battle Royale (And 5 Who Won't)

7. Won't Be - Rey Fenix

Rey Fenix won't be good to go by Double or Nothing, according to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer. The Death Triangle reportedly suffered some undisclosed injuries while wrestling in Mexico, preventing him from wrestling on the 30 May pay-per-view.

For what it's worth, his most recent match in Mexico was seemingly a tag team match for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, teaming with Laredo Kid in a winning effort over Abismo Negro Jr. and Taurus on 7 February. His last AEW match to date, however, was the 26 April broadcast of Dark: Elevation, defeating Chuck Taylor.

The reigning AAA World Tag Team Champion had been on a super run throughout AEW this year, with banger after banger going down against Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, and two trios matches alongside Penta el Zero Miedo and Laredo Kid.

Of course, there's always a chance Fenix could still appear at Double or Nothing. His Death Triangle pals - Penta and PAC - are in action, with Penta entering the Casino Battle Royale, and PAC challenging Omega in the main event for the World Championship. Fenix could easily be on hand to provide support for either man, particularly his now-regular partner in PAC. Don't count on any Mexican Destroyers, though, sadly.
