5 Wrestlers Who Could Be The Joker In AEW's Casino Battle Royale (And 5 Who Won't)

4. Could Be - John Silver

John Silver could feasibly return from injury as the Joker without the audience being disappointed.

Silver last wrestled on the 24 March Dynamite, being felled by defending TNT Champion Darby Allin in a thrilling main event. It was during this match, though, where the Dark Order man suffered a torn labrum. The guy himself has stated that he wouldn't be gone for long, with a four to six week estimated recovery time.

It's been nine weeks since the injury went down. You can see where this is going.

This is perhaps the only case where a full-time member of the AEW roster entering as the Joker would be acceptable. 'The Meat Man' has established himself as a perennial fan-favourite, with his Johnny Hungee patter being genuinely hilarious. He's become a standout member of the group because he's actually fun to watch. This isn't a gimmick for him. He just is funny. Watch this Being The Elite episode from about six and a half minutes onwards to see how.

Silver must be good to return to action. An in-ring reunion with his Dark Order pals while they're in a perilous situation - perhaps being dominated by the Hardy Family Office - would be heartwarming with a full, live audience to soak it up.
