5 Wrestlers Who Could Join The Teased New AEW SUPER Stable
3. Aussie Open
AEW builds its sprawling saga programmes in a certain way, for artistic and logistical reasons.
The idea, primarily, is to entertain fans with an interesting and compelling mystery (even if, at times, this can interfere with the "personal issues draw money" maxim).
As a byproduct of this, the stable war plot device allows Tony Khan to preserve the big singles dream matches, and the violent, climactic Anarchy In The Arena/Blood & Guts chapters, for deeper into the story. In the meantime, he advances the feud with TV-sized matches. As an example, one faction leader can work a lesser star on the other side, like when Kenny Omega defeated Wheeler YUTA as part of the BCC Vs. Elite rivalry. Moreover, the units can work in multiple trios combinations throughout the programme.
To add an extra dimension to the feud, AEW could add Aussie Open to the Callis family; that way, it could also incorporate an excellent sub-rivalry amongst the tag teams. The Young Bucks have suffered a hit on their rep since last year. Omega's long hiatus allowed fans some perspective. They realised through his absence how special he is. The Bucks have suffered in contrast, deemed by some to hold him back from operating as the best version of himself.
The Young Bucks are one of the greatest tag teams ever, if not the best. A feud with Aussie Open should remind people of this, and they could do with the promotion at this point.
This is complicated by the fact that Aussie Open have recently won the ROH World Tag Team titles, and Khan tends to conduct less ROH/AEW crossover business than he did in 2022.
