5 Wrestlers Who Made The ROH World Title

1. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe is the longest-reigning ROH World Champion ever with just one reign lasting SIX HUNDRED AND FOURTY FIVE DAYS! After winning the title from Xavier at Night of Champions on 22 March 2003, he would hold it until 26 December 2004.

In that time, he defended the belt on 29 occasions and basically put Ring Of Honor on the wrestling map. His uniqueness - a combination a size, ability, and the jaw-dropping moves he could execute in the ring - saw him understandably perceived as an undefeatable monster and thus made the wrestling fandom sit up and take notice of not just him or the belt, but the promotion as a whole.

The undoubted highlight of his reign was his trilogy with CM Punk. The two men put on a wrestling clinic in all three encounters, but Joe vs. Punk II, the first 5-star rated match for ROH, is the promotion's best match ever without question.

Although Xavier and Low Ki held it before him, Samoa Joe is rightfully credited with establishing the ROH World Title and making it the sought-after championship it became. Joe is #1 because without him, there would be no list.
