5 Wrestlers Who Will THRIVE In WWE NXT's New Era

3. Odyssey Jones

You need only take a glance at the absolute chunk of beef that is Odyssey Jones to comprehend why he's going to make it in NXT's new era.

The guy only has fourteen matches under his belt, of which only four were televised encounters. Nonetheless, WWE sees something in the guy, and not only due to his six foot five, 405-pound frame. He's a dab hand between the ropes, too, having become the first finalist in the brand's ongoing Breakout Tournament.

His semifinal bout vs. Trey Baxter from this week's NXT delivered a surprise outcome. Jones isn't an indie darling. He hadn't wrestled prior to signing with WWE. Baxter, meanwhile, caught fans' eyes on the indie scene as Blake Christian, one of the independents' most recent enthralling stars in the same vein as an Alex Zayne or a Tony Deppen. He's a hoot to watch, but he perhaps won't be with WWE for long if they no longer require talents of his nature.

Odyssey flattened the former 'Gamechanger' with a corner body splash. As well as tossing Blake from one corner to the other in one swift motion, Odyssey has the look of a guy who's going to make it. For Jones, being 400+ pounds isn't something that detracts from his ability; it benefits him.
