5 Wrestling Dream Matches That Make Perfect Sense (And 5 That Don't)

9. DON'T - Brock Lesnar Vs Bobby Lashley

The Fiend Doink
WWE

Not even on RAW Underground.

Bobby Lashley Vs Brock Lesnar has been pitched for years as one of those Godzilla/King Kong wars WWE used to be masters of promoting. The first WrestleMania of the 1990s was presented with Hulk Hogan Vs The Ultimate Warrior on top, satisfying the urges of a fanbase trained on diets of cartoons with characters these neon behemoths physically resembled. For the generation exposed to as much MMA as they have been pro wrestling, it seems perfect.

It will never deliver.

Or more specifically, WWE cannot deliver it.

When Vince McMahon thrice flubbed Braun Strowman's seemingly unstoppable ascent between 2017 and 2018, Wrestling Observer boss Dave Meltzer infamously likened it to somebody forgetting how to ride a bike. Lesnar was part of that - his lack of interest in selling for 'The Monster Among Men' when it really counted did much to extinguish the excitement around his gimmick.

The Hurt Business is booming, relatively speaking anyway. The last thing that group needs is 'The Beast' blowing through it and chipping away at the crown jewel.
