5 Wrestling Podcasts You Need To Listen To This Week

3. The Jim Cornette Experience

Jim Cornette ExperienceWho?: Jim Cornette is a retired professional wrestling promoter, manager, and booker. He worked for many years at Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW and WWE. He also owned Smoky Mountain Wrestling back in the 90s and has played many on screen characters for numerous promotions as well. What€™s It All About: Cornette and his audio producer Alice Radley discuss all sorts of wrestling related news and speculations. Cornette doesn€™t hide anything, and when he has something on his mind he says it completely uncensored. He also has interviews with wrestlers past and present which take up the majority of the podcast. What Topics Are Covered: The Alberto Del Rio incident, Robin Williams, reality shows, ScareFest, plus an interview with The Exotic One Adrian Street. During the interview Adrian discusses his humble beginnings, his professional wrestling career, and everything in between. Funniest Moment: Any time that Jim Cornette opens his mouth, it€™s hilarious. If Cornette had not gone into the wrestling business, this podcast proves he would have been an amazing radio personality. Alice is also really good at jumping off of Cornette€™s topics and dishing out her own thoughts on multiple subjects. Saddest Moment: Adrian Street€™s rough beginnings working in the coal mines. It€™s a tough reminder of just how difficult it was back in the day. Otherwise, there€™s not a lot too depressing other than hearing about Robin Williams. It seems like his influence in entertainment also expanded out to the world of professional wrestling. Recommended If You Like: Potty mouthed promoters with no filters. The show is also great for reminiscing on the old school days of professional wrestling, something that is missing in most podcasts related to the subject. Flaw of the Show: Cornette€™s cursing can get a little tiring after awhile, and there€™s not that much fan interaction taking place on the show. The focus seems to be more on Cornette and whoever his guest is. It€™s fine, but audience participation would be appreciated.
