5 Wrestling Podcasts You Need To Listen To This Week

2. The Swerve (Vince Russo)

Awesome Vince RussoWho?: A former writer for WWE, WCW, and TNA, Vince Russo is responsible for some of the more famous, as well as infamous, professional wrestling storylines of the 90s and early 2000s. He has also written two books and is a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He also writes on WhatCulture.com from time to time. Check him out! What€™s It All About: A fairly new podcast, Vince Russo is showing that he can be very entertaining and thought provoking with a mic close by. He covers a lot of ground in relation to professional wrestling, and he even has a special guest every week. His guests aren€™t the biggest names in wrestling, but they€™re always entertaining to hear. What Topics Are Covered: The death of Robin Williams, depression, his situation with being €œfired€ from TNA, the process and hassles of writing for a wrestling show, an interview with Debra €œMadusa€ Miceli, and what factors are most crucial in the wrestling business. Funniest Moment: Vince and Madusa discussing the wonders of Wikipedia and whether what€™s said online about a person is true or not. Other than that, there€™s not a whole lot of funny material on this podcast. Mostly straight shooting topics, but still very interesting and insightful. Saddest Moment: The whole topic of depression is rough, but also good to hear coming from a guy who knows what he€™s talking about on the subject matter. Recommended If You Like: A straight shooter who€™s not afraid to tell it like it is. If you want to learn more about the wrestling business, and you want to get a writer€™s perspective on the industry, then Russo€™s The Swerve is right up your alley. Flaw of the Show: It can get a little bit preachy at times, and Vince is on his own so he has nobody to bounce discussions off of except for his special guests.
